The result suggests goals had been flowing throughout the match, but it was not until 2 minutes before half-time that the Nomads made a break through. Lee Connolly was brought down in the box, and keeper Sean Bowles made sure from the spot. Before then it was a case of the Nomads creating the chances but the final shot was either blocked or cleared off the line, and the keeper had to make a point blank save to deny the Nomads of a goal. But, Sean Bowles did have to tip the ball past the post to make sure the Nomads led by 1-0 at the break. The first chance of the second half fell to Cottesmore, when Sean Bowles came out to meet a ball that had been pumped over the top; fortunately his sliced kick went wide of the post. Two minutes later the Nomads took a 2-0 lead, Danum Russell flicked the ball onto Sam McMahon who hit the back of the net. Soon after it was 3-0, a neat ball by Jake Duffy found Michael Reeve who slid the ball past the keeper. A Danum Russell shot was deflected past the keeper to make it four and on 75 minutes a corner by Jake Duffy was headed in trademark fashion by the Captain, Scott James. The half-dozen came on 82 minutes when a cross was headed home by Michael Reeve, to give him a brace during the match, and 2 minutes later the keeper could not keep out a powerful Matt Boyles strike. Declan Sutton coming on as sub, added his name to the list of goal scorers on 86 minutes with a neat shot, and with time running out, Michael Reeve completed his hat-trick from the penalty spot.
