Season 2008-09

After last week’s opener, when Nomads looked a very poor and disjointed side, losing 4-0 to Hathern Reserves in the League Cup, seven changes were made to the squad, and they almost gained full rewards against a team that finished in 4th place last season.

Both teams missed chances in the first half, but it was Saffron who took the lead in the 40th minute through an Adam Warley strike.

Nomads looked more assured and had the better of the second half, passing improved and breaks down each flank continually opened up the Saffron defence. Jimmy South and Kevin Wilson gave Nomads the lead but despite a series of corners and chances to make the game safe, they were not accepted and Paul Dance grabbed a late equaliser for the visitors.
