Season 2007-08
Match Report | LEICESTER POLSKA continued their recent dominance over Leicester Academicals, winning the tie 4-2 after a supreme first half performance. Securing their 5th straight win, Polska have never lost to Accies in any competition, and repeated the scoreline of their league win of last month. They also created a club record, this being their 9th away game without defeat, the last one coming back in January. And after a phenomenal first half display, it was clear that Polska were determined to carry on from their cup heroics of last week, Mark Inglis opening the scoring on 14 minutes after a great long ball from Luke Dyke. Darren Wheeler then continued his own goalscoring run, adding Polska's second just 6 minutes later from a Chris Rudkin corner. And Rudkin then added the third after a long range shot on 27 minutes squirmed under the Accies keeper. Accies came out firing for the second half, and pulled one back after 56 minutes, but Polska killed the game off 2 minutes later, Wheeler again finding the net from a Rich Ellis long range pass. Accies managed to score again on 76 minutes, and were very strong in the second half, but Polska saw out the game to record their 3rd 4-2 win of the season.
