Season 2009-10
Match Report | LEICESTER POLSKA turned around an 8-0 loss just a fortnight ago to gain quick revenge over Niffy Rangers, winning 3-2. Fielding debutant Dale Scott and with other players returning from lengthy absences, Polska were slow to find their stride, and Niffy had the better of the opening 20 minutes. But when Chris Rudkin broke the deadlock on 22 minutes, the home side settled down and started to play some good football. Savo Wieczorek then followed up Mark Ilnicki's effort to score on 36 minutes on his 60th Knighton Park appearance. Lewis then stabbed home on 42 minutes, but Niffy were handed a lifeline when Scott Clarke tucked away a 45th minute penalty. Niffy then tried to break Polska's dominance when scoring again on 57 minutes. Tom Lane then crashed a 67th minute penalty against the bar. Polska then saw chance after chance begging to be put away, and although the scoreline suggests a close game, the win was a very deserved one for the hosts and vital after the previous game. | |
