ANDZREJ: Didn’t have to do a lot, although didn’t collect too many corners. No chance with either goal CRANE: Mis hit pass from Chater put him under pressure first minute of second half, but did ok considering he is not a right back by trade MACIEK: Looked pacy but a bit inexperienced. Needed to get forward more to torment the Tumar defence, but did play well SPIDER: Goal line clearance in first half, solid and played well TOM: Strong second half, a bit unlucky for his part in the Tumar goals as wasn’t really supported TOMASZ: Much better game than last week, got tired late on. Needs to start imposing himself more. KAROL: Worked hard, gave ball away few times 1st half, took his goal well and looked dangerous upfront. Caught offside a few times MAREK: Gave it away 3 times, but also 2nd best in 3 challenges. Probably Polska’s quietest player SAV: Good work rate, worked well with Karol, caught offside a few times. Set up goals ALAN: Good work rate, took his goal well, cool finish. Caught offside, but wanted the ball and passed well MARCIN: Quality defending, even got away with giving the ball away once or twice. Man of the match with pace and fight. Will become our best centre half of the season. NICOLAS: Fought well when came on, missed the easiest chance of the game Tumar outfought us in the first half. They passed the ball around well on the floor (exactly how we should!) and their pressure and possession paid off with a stack of corners. We needed to get more in to the game and test their defence which did not look great. Despite their play, we had easily the better chances. Our midfield was more compact than last week, but we lacked a ball winner in there, and Marek couldn’t handle being bustled about. Some of our passing was wrong – we went for the wrong option too much. We actually played quite well in stages but Tumar did look like they wanted it more. In the second half, Tumar played a high line, and we got caught offside time and time again, and should have kept the ball and run with it more to draw the defenders out. We were easy to defend against. It looked like we were going to lose 2-1 at one point, but Alan finally beat the offside trap and finished well. With Nicolas missing a great chance, we could have won this game. In the last 6 or 7 minutes we had Tumar worried. I think a draw was about right, but we lacked a bit of bite today, and allowed Tumar to win too many battles. Marcin was outstanding despite 1 or 2 mistakes. Good to fight back twice from being a goal down, so we’ll take a point. Goals: Conway (24), Osipinski (27), Lewis (55), Chater (76) edited by Mark (14/11/2011) |
