LEICESTER POLSKA's unbeaten 13 game / 9 month run came to an end with a County Cup defeat at the hands of old adversaries Webbys Wanderers. Despite missing 5 first team possibles, Polska welcomed back goalkeeper Anzdrej from injury, his first game back since 30 September. However, he had to go off injured on 65 minutes after landing awkwardly on his shoulder, and with 10 men for the final third of the game, Polska never really looked likely to land a telling blow. They went behind on just 61 seconds after Spider Pajak's defensive error let in Wes Earls. Keaton Towers then scored a superb overhead kick to give Webbys a 2-0 lead on 33 minutes. Earlier, Marek Dziopa's tremendous shot was saved even more impressively by Webbys player-manager-stand in keeper Neil. Dziopa finally got some joy when he made it 2-1 on 37 minutes - scoring direct from a corner, although with Webbys playing into the wind, the weather pretty much carried the ball into the net, as Polska were to find out in the second half when a series of goal kicks went out of play. Webbys took the lead with a wind assisted cross on 67 minutes, just a short while after Anzdrej went off, but then looked a little nervous as Lukas Tabaka made it 3-2 on 81 minutes following a great pass from Dziopa. But with the extra man and the conditions, Polska looked like they had little in the tank, time and again the ball kept coming back, and some of the defensive errors were unforced, especially when Alex Starkey made it 4-2 on 89 minutes.
