Season 2014-15
Match Report | LEICESTER POLSKA lost back to back league games for the first time since March 2012 as their final October game added to the disappointment of the previous week against Thurnby Valley. Polska tested Magpies keeper Clark virtually from the kick off, Gaglewski out wide feeding Dobrzynski who shot just wide. But after that Thurlaston got on top as Polska struggled to get going. On 18 minutes Magpies scored from a move that eventually began with a Polska throw, and then 10 minutes later converted a 28th minute penalty after Krol was adjudged to have manhandled a Thurlaston player from a set piece. We've seen them given and not given. Cupal and Kucznier replaced Mazurek and Dobrzynski at half time, and with Polska switching to 3-5-2 and throwing Kwiatkowski further forward, the visitors dominated the second 45 but needed a quick reply goal. In the end it took until 76 minutes to Kucznier to make it 2-1 with a stunning effort. After Szczypczyk had won the ball from a tackle and Gaglewski had deflected the ball forward, Kucznier knocked the ball inside the advancing Magpies defender before curling a 20 yarder into the bottom right corner. Polska had a few more chances but had given themselves too much to do, and on 86 minutes Magpies caught them on the break from deep to make it 3-1 with a well taken goal. | |
