A new look Leicester Polska bounced back from 3 recent defeats in style to beat league leaders Wigston United 2-0. After a trio of cup defeats, Polska kept up their good league run by producing their best performance of the season so far to beat their high flying opponents. With new striker Ross Grocock making his debut in place of the injured Savvo Wieczorek and Adam Dyke making his full league debut, Polska also deployed man of the match Stef Thornton in the heart of their defence. Although Wigston had the greater share of possession in the first half, Chris Eames - making his 100th appearance - shot wide on 17 minutes from a Rich Ellis throw. Tom Lane then blazed a shot over the bar on 24 minutes. Mark Inglis then put the hosts 1-0 up on 36 minutes, picking up a Chris Rudkin pass that had started from the left hand side with a precise cross from Ross Grocock. Inglis then doubled Polska's advantage on 49 minutes, slotting past the keeper after a fine through ball from Grocock. Grocock then shot inches wide on 63 minutes from an Adam Dyke pass, and then on 76 minutes he headed over from a Polska corner. Chris Eames then shot wide as a deflected effort fell to him on 77 minutes. In the end, Polska's determination and work rate won the day, and there was no happy return to Knighton Park for former Polska skipper Sean O'Callaghan, who was unable to inspire a Wigston fightback from the middle of the park.
