Match Report | Anstey Nomads started the game under the cosh for 10-15 minutes but kept their heads, it was then even with shots on goal from both sides.Nomads went on a run whipped the ball over to Warren Yorke to bang one in for the Nomads in the 25th minute. Ellistown continued push for an equaliser but Nomads continued to defend well, on the 37th minute Nomads had a greta counter and Jamie Munday bagged the second just before the whistle blew for half time. Second half started pretty much the same as the first, Ellistown putting on lots of pressure but again Nomads defended well with the goalkeeper keeping in control. But Nomads could only defend for so long before Ellistown scored to make it 2-1. It was then that the substitute Antony Ward, Nomads recent signing who had returned to play for the Nomads was played the ball through in his own half, he then sprinted 60 yards keeping his cool to slot a fine goal. Ellistown responded with another goal making for a nervous ending to the game but Nomads held firm and the referee`s whistle rewarded Nomads their first win 3-2. The NOmads managers would like to thank the fans for getting behind them and hope they will carry on with their support. | |
