Match Report | A sparkling hat trick from Adam Dyke saw Leicester Polska hammer bottom side Thurnby 5-1. With his earlier goals against Kingsway wiped from records, these were officially his 'first' strikes for the club. Polska were comfortable throughout, and after just 4 minutes Chris Rudkin strangely had a goal ruled out for offside despite no complaints from the Thurnby players. Jamie White then shot over the bar on 9 minutes. Rudkin then tried a long range effort on 19 minutes after the Thurnby keeper got stranded way off his line, but the shot went wide. Adam Dyke then headed over on 35 minutes from a Rudkin cross, but opened the scoring 3 minutes later, skillfully taking on 3 players and slotting past the keeper as he entered the box. Then just before half time, Polska made it 2-0, Andy Ilnicki winning the ball from midfield, and playing a great through ball to Ross Grocock who made no mistake. In the second half, Grocock headed over on 48 minutes from a Chris Eames cross, then Eames blazed over 4 minutes later after a long range pass from Rudkin. Dyke then got his second on 59 minutes, after great work from Rudkin and Eames, before Thurnby pulled one back. Eames then hit the post via the keeper on 65 minutes after great contributions from Eames and Grocock, whilst Dyke completed his hat trick on 70 minutes from a very narrow angle after a great through ball from Tom Lane. Rob Cooper then scored his first goal for the club, and also became Polska's first goalscoring sub since November 2005 when blasting home virtually on the line, after Rich Ellis had caused havoc in the Thurnby box and setting up the goal. | |
