Season 2006-07
Match Report | IN a game that was all over bar the shouting at half time, Leicester Polska picked up their first away win since October, in the process doing the double over league leaders Wigston. Going in 3-0 up at half time, Tom Lane opened the scoring from the penalty spot on 20 minutes after Andy Ilnicki had clearly been fouled in the box. Then 8 minutes later Ilnicki scored his first ever goal for the club when stabbing home after a Ross Grocock header. Grocock himself then got in on the act, scoring on 38 minutes after good work from Tom Lane and Chris Rudkin. Wigston's shell shocked defence was swapped round at the break, ex-Polska skipper Sean O'Callaghan being moved back to steady the ship but it looked too little too late. As Polska tired in the second half on a very heavy pitch, Jamie Jeyes pulled one back for the hosts on 77 minutes, but this was one of only 2 shots Polska stopper Jason Hughes had to deal with all game. | |
