Season 2007-08
Match Report | A below par Leicester Polska suffered a comprehensive defeat to Horse for the second season running. Horse controlled the first half, and their dominance paid off when they opened the scoring on 26 minutes, Stef Thornton unable to prevent the ball coming off him to give the visitors the lead. Horse then stormed into a 2-0 lead on 31 minutes, before Chris Rudkin pulled one back on 40 minutes from a Rich Ellis cross. Debutants Michael Ghebre and Roy Beattie swapped roles at half time, with Ross Grocock having already come on for the injured Thornton on 39 minutes. Rudkin then scored his second on 71 minutes from another set piece, 4 of his 10 Polska career goals now coming against the Babington side. It seemed like Polska were set to claim the unlikeliest of points before Shalin Lal turned the ball past his own keeper Jason Hughes, who nevertheless made a string of oustanding saves during the game. With all subs having been used, and Ross Grocock suffering a recurrence of his knee injury picked up against Advance Couriers on the opening day of the season, Clint Gunn put the matter beyond doubt when scoring to make it 4-2 at the death.
