Season 2007-08
Match Report | LEICESTER POLSKA gained a vital 3 points as they continued their unbeaten run against Leicester Academicals. After having their first 'win' against Es Cana wiped from official records earlier this week, Polska were rocked by an early 5th minute goal as the hosts took the lead. But Savvo Wieczorek levelled just a minute later after good work from Chris Rudkin. Yet again Polska were caught out as Accies took the lead for a second time after just 8 minutes. Polska began to spend more time in the Accies half looking for an equaliser, and Mark Inglis rewarded the reds when levelling on 24 minutes. It was Inglis' first appearance of the season, and his first Polska goal since February. Polska continued their forward forays in the second half, and Chris Rudkin finally gave them the lead after 57 minutes. Andy Zarzycki then came on for Wieczorek on 85 minutes, his first appearance for Polska since February 2004. Rudkin then scored his fourth goal in 2 games after finishing off Andy Illnicki's crossbar-hit effort, putting the game beyond doubt on 88 minutes. It was the fourth time Rudkin has scored 2 goals in a single game for Polska.
