Season 2007-08
Match Report | LEICESTER POLSKA got back to winning ways with a 7-3 victory over Countesthorpe. Darren Wheeler set the ball rolling after 12 minutes when running into the CAOB box and slamming home, but then the hosts were level 3 minutes later when Phil Howard converted a fortuitous penalty. Andy Ilnicki then restored Polska's advantage on 25 minutes, before Kyle Thomas got his first Polska goal on 31 minutes. Wheeler then got his second and Polska's fourth on 49 minutes, before Countesthorpe staged a mini-fightback. Joe Brown scored on 50 minutes, before Chris Eames deflected a Luke Coxon shot into his own net on 57 minutes. But veteran striker Andy Zarzycki then calmed things down when scoring his first goal since December 2003 on 62 minutes, before adding another 5 minutes later. Chris Rudkin then stabbed home at the death to make it 7-3, which means that Polska have now scored 15 goals in their last 2 games against last season's division one champions.
