Season 2007-08
Match Report | The final game of 2007 for Leicester Polska ended in disaster as a determined Legion United dumped the Eagles out of the Billy Walton Cup 4-1. All the damage was done in the first half as a Jordan Cunningham hat trick and a John Peacock strike put the hosts 4-0 up at the interval. The rout started after just 5 minutes, when a rare error from Dave Kendall put Legion through on goal. Although Chris Eames then hit a post, Legion extended their lead on 23 minutes after a Guy Jarvis error. It was then 3-0 on 28 minutes, before Polska conceded a fourth just two minutes before the break. Luke Dyke had to replace the injured Jason Hughes in goal for the entire second half, and although Polska played with more conviction, in truth the damage was already done well before that, and despite Darren Wheeler grabbing a consolation goal seven minutes from time, this is a game Polska will quickly want to forget.
