Season 2008-09
Match Report | A wonderful first half Polska performance was almost overshadowed by a terrible second half as Polska ran up a 5-0 lead in the first 45 minutes. Curtis Johnson was making his first team debut and grabbed a hat trick, starting in the very first minute, then benefitting from a kind deflection off Ben Orton on 34 minutes. Johnson's treble came up courtesy of a fantastic individual effort on 65 minutes when he picked up the ball in his own half and beat 3 players before running into the Niffy box and slotting home. He becomes the first Polska player to score a debut hat trick for at least 15 years. Chris Rudkin added Polska's second on 7 minutes from a Jeff Boulton header, before Chris Eames made it 3 on 17 minutes. Rich Ellis then made it 5-0 on half time with a weakly struck free kick which somehow found the net. Niffy took advantage of Polska dropping down a gear in the second half, Aaron Faulkner grabbing his own hat trick courtesy of strikes on 66, 77 and 4 minutes, with Ian Deacon also adding to the tally on 54 minutes. But Polska's huge first half advantage was always enough.
