Season 2010-11
Match Report | Leicester Polska remain unbeaten on a Sunday this season after an entertaining 3-3 draw away to Western Athletic. It was Polska's third draw in as many games, and their fourth overall this season from seven starts. February 2000 was the last time they notched up such a sequence. Polska got off to a sloppy start, and Western took the lead on just 4 minutes when Matt Garner opened the scoring with a soft goal. Savo Wieczorek then scored a stunning 20 yard strike to equalise on 15 minutes after a great headed pass from Polska debutant Mo Baldeh. It was Savo's 70th career goal and he becomes the third top first team goalscorer in Polska history. Andy McGill then punsihed Polska for yet more soft defending on 18 minutes before Radek Gagliewski made it 2-2 just three minutes later after yet another goal set up by Baldeh. Baldeh was then involved further, this time setting up Alan Chater who made it 3-2 on 36 minutes. Both sides had point blank chances in the second half, but Western saw a lot more of the ball. Polska will be cursing their luck after Western managed to salvage a deserved point with just 4 minutes to go, but Polska are proving their resiliance this season. Quote from Western: 'Polska are a much better side than your results suggest and any team that takes you lightly this year will find out!' edited by Mark (12/10/2010) | |
