Season 2010-11
Match Report | Stand in skipper Mark Chater scored on his armband debut, but Polska were undone in the end by two very late strikes as they threatened to take an unlikely point from this game. Polska were dominated by their opponents in the first half, but there was a sense that Guthlaxton had failed to take their chances, as they only had a 16th minute Loz Perkins strike to show for their first half work. Chater then made it 1-1 on 67 minutes with a strong header from a Polska corner. Just minutes earlier, there was general disbelief and bewilderment amongst virtually eveyone present when referee Minesh Gupta failed to award Polska a penalty when Guthlaxton 'keeper Mark McGlinchey clearly brought down Gagliewski in the area. Polska battled hard and produced a much better second half display after a listless first 45, but were undone when Perkins made it 2-1 on 85 minutes, with Tom Hodson then warpping up a 3-1 scoreline on 88 minutes. Rys Procinski played the final 2 minutes for his 309th appearance. | |
