LEICESTER POLSKA marked their 150th Alliance League game with a late, late goal from Przremyslaw Przerwa to secure a point against league leaders North Kilworth. Polska achieved a rare feat of spending the entire opening 5 minutes in the Kilworth half, but once Kilworth settled, they took a 16th minute lead through Polska old boy Chris Rudkin, who powered home a free kick. Rich Brown then made it 2-0 on 28 minutes from a corner as Polska looked in trouble. Marcin Krogulec gave Polska a lifeline with a goal on 35 minutes from a Marek Dziopa pass. Savo Wieczorek then scored the most bizarre goal ever seen at Knighton Park. After Kilworth had kicked the ball out so that one of their players could be treated for an injury, Wieczorek then intercepted the throw back from Polska and made it 2-2. Sportsmanship prevailed as Polka then stood aside for Rudkin to make it 3-2 on 51 minutes. In a pulsating conclusion, both sides missed chances, but when Osipinski got fouled on 88 minutes, Marek Dziopa took the resulting free kick. There was some panic in the Kilworth defence as Spider Pajak came up for the resulting kick, leaving Alan Chater the only Polska player in his half - only for Prezemyslaw Przrewa to bundle home a late equaliser. Against a side top of the league, and without the injured Lukasz Tabaka, this was a great point for Polska especially after they were 2-0 down. PLAYER RATINGS: PAJAK: Couldn't do much for the goals, played his part when coming up for the late free kick to cause confusion in the Kilworth defence PRZERWA: Got the all important late equaliser, capping a fine performance OSIPINSKI: Had a great game, and was at the heart of everything good about Polska going forward WYSOCZANSKI: Got stuck in, and 100% committed before being subbed on 76 minutes. Man of the match. DZIOPA: Set up the first and third Polska goals, but didn't like the terribly boggy pitch one bit A CHATER: Played further forward late on as Polska searched for an equaliser. Always involved M CHATER: Solid at the back as ever SIECZKA: Great game from the youngster, who may have played his way into the semi final reckoning KROGULEC: Unfamiliar forward role, but took his goal well and worked hard for 90 minutes WIEZCOREK: Won't have scored an easier goal in his Polska career! WISNIEWSKI: First game back from suspension, got plenty of crosses in first half, switched left second half. SUBS: KWIATKOWSKI: First game back since Foster Cup quarter final injury M SYNOWIEC: Came on as late sub |
