LEICESTER POLSKA won their first league game of 2013 with a 3-2 win over Huncote Sunday, although the win was a little more cosy than the scoreline suggested, in ridiculously wintry conditions. It was the third win of the this season against Huncote. After a sluggish start, Polska opened the scoring on 27 minutes when a superb pass from Maciek Wisniewski set up Lukasz Tabaka with a glorious chance which he did not waste. Polska then conceded a soft goal when playing themselves into trouble, Huncote hit the bar with their initial shot on 34 minutes before it came back to Wes Johnson who made no mistake. Then Prezemyslaw Pzerwa settled the game with two goals in the 47th and 48th minutes. His first came from a cheeky Savo flick, and Pzrema just managed to tuck the ball under the advancing keeper. Then a minute later Sav and Tabaka were both involved in the build up as Pzerwa looped a ball into the left corner of the Huncote net to give Polska a cushion. Huncote then made Polska sweat unnecessarily when Ryan Yeomanson - son of Polska legend Mark - took advantage of a sloppy Polska defensive move on 85 minutes to make it 3-2. Tabaka missed a great chance from Przerwa in the last minute who could easily have taken it on himself in search of a hat trick.
