A severely depleted Polska side lost 2-0 to Oakfield, thanks in part to the goalkeeping heroics of Andzrej Podburaczynski who kept out a stack of Oakfield chances with some brilliant saves. With a side missing Kwiatkowski, Przerwa and Wisniewski, Polska just couldn't plug the gaps, and found themselves over run for pretty much the first 30 minutes, before finally putting some passes together, the scores being 0-0 at half time. And with nearly 70 minutes on the clock, it looked like the game could have been heading for a 0-0, before Marc Freer's long range effort found the net, to the unlucky disappointment of Andzrej. Polska struggled to get into the game after that, and with referee Keith Smith admitting he missed a handball in the build up to Oakfield's 88th minute goal from Mathew Blackshaw, it was a miserable morning for the hosts, who were failing to score for the first time in 48 games, going all the way back to October 2011 against Intersport. PLAYER RATINGS ANDZREJ: Man of the match in his first Polska game since December 2012. KROL: Had a lot of work to do with a virtual Oakfield forward three, but did well. WASIK: As above. PAJAK: Got some great strong tackles in in a rare outfield performance. GAGLEWSKI: Didn't really get too involved, needed to track back more second half. KOSIOREK: Swapped positions with defenders many times, worked hard. DZIOPA: Took his shirt to the launderette in the 64th minute. ALLEN: At fault for an Oakfield goal, despite a battling first half performance. KROGULEC: Full of running for 90 minutes. SZCZYPZK: Found it hard to make his mark, but worked hard. OSIPINSKI: Some great (and late!?) challenges, worked hard. SUBS: GASIOREK: Hard for the debutant to make an impact despite 26 minutes on the pitch. CRANE: Great defensive challenge late on, worthy of his £2 match fee. SUBS NOT USED: Wysoczanski, Procinski |
