Season 2013-14
Match Report | RADEK GAGLEWSKI was the Polska hero against Oakfield, and his first game since his winter hibernation in October saw him come off the bench to score a last minute equaliser to give Polska a point after being 2-0 down. Spider Pajak was also in top form, saving a 16th minute penalty either side of the hosts easing to a 2-0 lead. Polska started well but lacked a deadly finish in front of goal, and found themselves 1-0 down on 10 minutes when Oakfield scored with an easy (unmarked) effort at the far post. Following the penalty save, Oakfield then went 2-0 up on 28 minutes as Polska continued to fail to clear their lines. Andzrej Kosiorek gave Polska a lifeline on 34 minutes as he converted a corner. Gaglewski and Cupal came on at half time for Wysoczanski and Osipinski, and with Polska switching to a 4-4-2 line up they looked a far better side. Chances continued to go begging, and it looked as though Polska might be denied a deserved point. Marek Dziopa entered the fray with 16 minutes to go, and in the dying seconds of the game it was his pass that set up Gaglewski for the equaliser in off the post which the last minute Oakfield replacement keeper could not get to. It was Gaglewski's 25th Polska goal, and came on his first game back since October, ironically against Oakfield at Knighton Park. Since Gaglewski's hibernation, Britain has gone decimal and smoking has been banned in pubs. It was Polska's 5th league draw this season, and let's not forget 2 cup games also went to penalties! | |
