Season 2014-15
Match Report | Leicester Polska once more lost by the odd goal, but can perhaps draw some comfort from the fact that despite missing 5 players and having their rookie keeper up front, they still managed to give a battling account of themselves. That was not evident at the start of the game though - Polska took kick off and on just 92 SECONDS Shoemakers went 1-0 up, showing their keenness to be first to the ball. Polska eventually settled, and Lukasz Hinz had the best chance of the first half when his mazy solo run from left midfield saw him foiled at the death as the Shoemakers keeper managed to virtually sit on the ball to stop it going in. In the second half, Polska finally sprung into life, and a strong run forward from Dawid Wasik saw him set up Hinz for a 68th minute equaliser, as he looped the ball past the keeper to make it 1-1. But Polska dropped down a gear instead of going for the jugular, and on 75 minutes went 2-1 down. Worse was to follow on 79 minutes as Spider Pajak came racing out of his goal to foil Ryan Kneafsey, but arguably made contact with the player first. Despite Kneafsey going to the right of goal, and with 2 defenders behind Spider, the referee deemed it worthy of a red card for denying a goalscoring opportunity, and Polska were down to 10 men for the last 11 minutes. 2 minutes later Shoemakers sealed the win with a 3 pass move to slot home past stand in keeper Ziniewicz. There was some hope as Marcin Krogulec headed in from a Patryk Mazurek 88th minute corner to make it 3-2, but Polska were to come away with nothing. | |
