 Match Report

Joe Moran made it two hat-tricks on the spin, as the Nomads regained top spot on goal difference.

Matt Boyles made up for an early miss by flicking on a cross to Joe Moran who turned neatly and flicked the ball over the keeper to put him on his way on the 15th minute mark. His second came 20 minutes later, when a floated cross from Jake Duffy was only cleared to Joe and he notched up his second.

The Nomads were in control and after neat passing on the stroke of half-time, Matt Bowles again turned provider, but this time he found Luke Padmore who rolled the ball under the keeper.

Being 3-0 down, Thurmaston opened the second half by applying a little pressure but they never looked like scoring and it was Jake Duffy and Sam McMahon who were the closer to scoring. The Nomads increased their lead to 4-0 on the 60th minute, when Joe Moran found the net with a shot across the keeper.

The Nomads replaced Scott James and Sam McMahon with Eddie Appleton and Lee Jones for the later stages but the former was given was given his marching orders with just 15 minutes to go. The Referee’s judgement of Eddie Appleton’s challenge seemed harsh and all the players looked shocked. So, the Nomads were left to play out the final minutes with just 10 men.

The hat-trick made Joe Moran the League’s top scorer.
