Match Report | The Nomads started this match knowing anything but a defeat would be a good result. 2nd Blaby however had to win to put pressure on the Nomads and give them selves a chance of the title. For the second week in a row, Steve Walsh was in the fold, but a late change denied him of a starting place. Blaby had the edge in the opening 15 minutes and should have taken the lead but their striker hit the side netting. The Nomads had a couple of free-kicks but they could not put the ball on goal. A couple of chances did fall to Troy Bucalossi but a strike went over the crossbar and later a header had the same result. With 5 minutes left of the half, Blaby had the best chance when their striker was put through on goal, but debutant Sean Delaney came off his line and smothered the ball at the strikers feet as he was about to shoot. This save would later prove to be most important. Early in the second half, Stu Dealey made two substitutions, Lee Connolly and Joe Moran coming on to try and force the game, but still chances were not taken. The closest the Nomads came was when a Scott James header clipped the crossbar following a Jake Duffy free-kick. Steve Walsh was introduced and the final moments saw the Nomads on their back feet, but the defence was able to soak up the Blaby pressure. The outcome was therefore a hard fought draw, and the Nomads can now afford 2 defeats in their remaining 7 matches and with Blaby having to play 3rd placed Ashby on the 31st March, the cushion could be increased.
