Season 2008-09

Playing in their un-characteristic Gold and White kit, the Nomads were up against one of the two teams who had already held them to a draw in a League match this season. Thoughts of the added time goal to secure the draw after going down to 10 men, needed to be erased.

After just 15 minutes, Sam McMahon collected the ball, found space, opened up the Dynamo defence with a pin point pass to Michael Reeve who rounded the keeper and slid the ball home for a 1-0 lead.

There was then a period of Nomads pressure which saw Jake Duffy shooting went wide of the target and the Saffron keeper saving a free-kick. Clear chances on goal tended to be hard to come by for both teams, but with 5 minutes of the half remaining, their lead was increased with a hard worked goal. Gaining possession in mid-field, Michael Reeve played the ball forward. At first the Saffron defender looked to have the situation under control, but Troy Bucalossi robbed him of the ball, and hit the back of the net.

The Nomads controlled the second half, Scott James had a header disallowed for climbing, and later was denied by the keeper. The third goal eventually arrived and like the first, Sam McMahon was the provider. Curt Smith collected his pass and hammered the ball into the net. With time running out, Jake Duffy was put clear but somehow clipped the ball wide, and Robert Morrell came on as a substitute.
