Season 2008-09

The Nomads paraded their new signings, Shaun Bowles, Tom Allsop and Danum Russell, and returned to winning ways in the League.

The Nomads took the lead after 15 minutes, when a ball played in by Michael Reeve, created a defensive error, and Joe Moran pinched the ball to score. A minute later neat passing found Jake Duffy in space and he curled the ball past the keeper.

On 20 minutes, it could have been 3-0, when Tom Allsop’s through ball found Joe Moran who beat the keeper but not the post. It was the same result on 30 minutes, this time Luke Padmore put the ball through and Sam McMahon hitting the post. There was not long to wait for the third, when on 35 minutes Danum Russell won the ball, found Joe Moran who wrong footed the keeper and slid the ball home to complete a brace.

For the first 20 minutes of the 2nd half there was stalemate, defences on top and no real chances created. Then on 70 minutes, out of the blue, it was Danum Russell being the provider for the second time, winning the ball in the box, allowing Jake Duffy to place his shot into the corner of the net. Two minutes later Nicki Finney was unlucky not to score when his volley hit the keeper.

A frantic final 10 minutes saw Forman chipping Carl Muggleton to pull a goal back for Cottesmore, and Luke Padmore regaining the four goal advantage following a run by Michael Reeve.
