Match Report | The Quarter Final of the Beacon Bitter Cup has produced shock results in the past, so the Nomads could not take this match as a foregone conclusion. The game was played at a fast pace, Cottesmore competed for every ball, and they had their chances of scoring in the first half. Craig Hands had to make a goal line clearance with his head, and just before half-time Cottesmore had the ball in the net but was judged to be off-side. Make no mistake, the Nomads were the better team and they had the majority of the chances, but only one was converted. The opening goal came on 15 minutes following a series of passes, which left Michael Reeve on goal, the keeper saved with his feet but the ball rebounded to Troy Bucalossi who made sure. The keeper was again on hand to save at the feet of Michael Reeve and later it was the same outcome but this time a point blank save was required to deny the same player. Two minutes into the second half the Nomads finally relieved the pressure when Luke Padmore headed home. The Nomads continued to have all the play but could not improve the score line until Adam Bishop was on hand to grab the third. Robert Morrell | |
