Season 2010-11

POLSKA failed to score for the first time in 14 games, yet ironically missed 3 golden chances throughout this game. They failed to settle for this final evening game, and on 19 minutes Tomasz Tywonczuk gave away a penalty with a handball that the referee spotted. Savo Wieczorek, on his 150th Polska appearance, went close to scoring, as did Radek Gagliewski with a free header. With a change of personnel for the second half (Sieczko on for Tywonczuk), Polska suffered further as Bates raced on to a headed error by Chris Lewis to loop the ball over Rutkowski to make it 2-0. Polska knew it wasn't to be their night when a powerful shot from Alan Chater in the final few minutes was brilliantly saved by the Fleckney keeper.
