Season 2010-11
Match Report | LEICESTER POLSKA recorded their first win of the season - and Mark Whait's 100th as Manager - by beating St Patricks 3-0. Despite fielding a bare 11 after a spate of unavailabilities, Polska settled into a passing game well, helped out by the 4-5-1 formation with Savo Wieczorek as the lone striker due to the late withdrawal of Mark Inglis. Savo did his job well, and opened the scoring on 39 minutes. Arkadiusz Choina then provided a hammer blow just 3 minutes later as he got the last touch on a scrambled finish. There looked to be no way back for St Patricks as they appeared to lack a killer edge, and although they had the lion's share of possession in the second half, never really looked like getting back into it. Mark Chater capped a man of the match performance by killing off the game on 83 minutes to give Polska their first win since the 2-1 victory over GT in March. Wojciech Krysztofick made his debut in goal with a clean sheet, although his only error was picking up a throw in from Maciek Wysoczanski. But all in all it was a much better Polska performance with the team showing a great work ethic and support in each other. It was also Polska's first clean sheet since September 2007! | |
