Season 2010-11
Match Report | Polska played their first match at Knighton Park since October but came unstuck 3-2 despite leading 2-1 at one stage. Polska old boys Pete Smith and John Garden were welcomed back into the fold - Garden making his first appearance since November 2005 when introduced in the 81st minute, and his first Knighton Park game since February 2004. Polska went 1-0 down on 36 minutes when Jamie Barnett opened the scoring, but equalised 2 minutes later through Tomasz Godziebiewski - his second in as many games. Fosse looked the sharper side in the first half, but the Polska back line defended well - especially Chris Eames. Polska opened the second half the better side and went 2-1 up on 48 minutes when Radek Gagliewski made it 2-1 after good work from Savo Wieczorek and Mo Baldeh. Baldeh then should have put the home side 3-1 up 2 minutes later but opted for a showboat shot which went wide when surely a square pass or a deliberate shot on target would have out the result beyond doubt. Barnett punished this indecision 6 minutes later to make it 2-2, and Andzrej Podburalcinski then saw a Lee Creedon shot squirm beneath him on 78 minutes to make it 3-2. | |
