Season 2010-11
Match Report | Polska legend Tom Lane celebrated his 300th appearance with a decent win - Polska's first league victory of 2011. Polska perhaps shaded the first half, but the ball just wouldn't fall for them despite making a number of chances with a 3-strong attack. Mark Inglis certainly looked like he should have had a penalty but it wasn't given, and the half time score was 0-0. However, there was one awarded against Chris Eames in the 48th minute, and Mark Allen stepped up and gave Wigston the lead. It took Polska and Mark Inglis just four minutes to equalise though, and 8 minutes later Inglis again found the net to give Polska the lead for the first time. Wigston's heads seemed to drop after this as they are on a long losing run, and Savo Wiecorek made it 3-1 on 73 minutes before Mo Baldeh wrapped things up with Polska's fourth on 88 minutes - his 10th of the season. Inglis now has 17 goals in what is turning out to be an excellent campaign for him - and he trails all time scorer Tom Lane by just 20 goals. This was a fine Polska team effort though, with everyone pulling together and some good passing on display. | |
