Season 2015-16

The curse of Birstall struck again as Polska lost for the 3rd time running against their hosts. But this game was very different from the one a month ago, and Polska would have won the game but for creating their own downfall. Birstall's usual approach to the game sucked in Polska who had started brilliantly with Karol Osipinski scoring after just 5 minutes after a Lutowicz effort had been saved. It was all Polska but they failed to keep their minds on their football, and after a Birstall foul Max Sieczka kicked out resulting in a 30th minute red card. The correct decision and a lesson that Polska need to not get drawn into retaliation. Polska didn't look particularly troubled for the rest of the half, with the defence - especially the man of the match Cupal dealing with most threats. Unfortunately it was a different story after the break, Birstall attacking with much more purpose and Alex Austick scored the inevitable equaliser on 51 minutes. With 20 to go, Polska regrouped and still looked in the game, but the second turning point came on 78 minutes. Polska were awarded a penalty for a Birstall player kicking out off the ball, but Marek put the spot kick down to the keepers' left who saved it. Eventually, the Birstall 1 man advantage paid off, as Ben Pellington scored with 8 minutes to go.
